The quintessential fat-fendered rod, this 1947 Ford Club Coupe offers big car space, plenty of v8 power, and great details that make it stand out in a crowded field. Its also sort of a rare find being that it has a Ford 302ci motor between the front fenders. For all you guys who cringe when you read chevy 350 in a Ford, this just may be the perfect rod for you! Dressed in formal black, this awesome Ford has a familiar look thats never going to go out of style, but with a few custom touches that give it a unique look. The most obvious parts are the custom flames licking along the bodywork, beautifully done and dazzlingly complex, theyre also subtle and tasteful, something that can rarely be said of flame jobs. The black paint underneath is quite nicely done, too, offering a deep gloss and distortion-free reflections in the Fords curvaceous bodywork. The sheetmetal is original and nothing was chopped or trimmed, and all the factory trim pieces were left in place. That means the beautiful wide grille with red accents, the stainless side trim, and even the window surrounds, all of which add contrast to the black paint. A few tasteful pinstripe flourishes add a traditional touch, while led lighting gives it a state-of-the-art look at night. This is an easy car to love. The very cool interior is why youll find this car so appealing as a driver, with custom leather and ostrich skin buckets flanking a custom center console that neatly ties into the original dash. The upholstery work is beautifully done and quite tasteful overall, with simple door panels, nice black carpets, and few distractions from the stitchwork on the seats. The original gauges, complete with red lettering, still monitor the engine, while a tilt column with a leather-wrapped wheel makes it feel more contemporary. A/c vents were discreetly tucked under the dash and into the hand-fabricated center console, along with the kenwood am/fm/cd/ipod stereo head unit. The back seat is reasonably sized for full-sized adults, so it was appropriately upholstered to match, along with the good-sized trunk which is simply finished in black carpets. One of our favorite features about this rod is that its 100 ord, starting with a 302 cubic inch v8 up front. Dressed in cobra regalia and lots of polished aluminum, its a strong runner with a fat torque curve to get the big coupe up and running without working too hard. An edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold make for sharp throttle response and its been tuned to make use of high-octane pump gas, so no fussiness when youre out on the road. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool even on hot days in traffic, and the firewall has been smoothed and painted to provide the perfect backdrop for the shiny engine. An aod 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission means its easy-going on the highway and the 9-inch rear offers 3.35 gears with a track-lok limited slip. Long-tube headers and a custom dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers provides an old-school soundtrack and thanks to a modern front clip, the suspension rides well and includes power steering and disc brakes. Staggered torque thrust wheels add to the wicked rake and wear 195/60/15 front and 255/70/15 rear bfgoodrich t/a radials. Nicely finished and obviously built to drive, this cool old Ford is a painless way to get the best of both worlds. Call today!
