For sale at gateway classic cars in our st. Louis showroom is a 1957 Chevrolet 150 that is built for speed. This '57 is painted in a very eye catching and unique carbon black metallic. Inside it's all business with two racing bucket seats, a stereo, autometer gauges, light weight no nonsense door panels with aluminum window cranks and door openers, a cooling fan for the occupants and five point harnesses attached to the roll cage. Powering this bad boy is an all time favorite, the chevy big block! A 502 cubic inch v8 sucking in fuel and air through two four barrel carburetors. This engine is producing a little over 500 horsepower and more than 560 lbs/ft of torque! The compression ratio is a modest 9.6:1 making it very useable with pump gas. The bottom end consist of a steel crank, forged steel connecting rods and forged aluminum pistons. A roller camshaft with .527 lift for the intake and .544 for exhaust and 2.25 intake valves with 1.88 exhaust complete the valve train. Aluminum heads and intake keep some of the weight down. Backing up this stout power plant is tci turbo 400 and a ford 9" with 4.56 gears. The rear end is tubbed and reinforced to allow the 31x16.50x15 hoosier racing slicks. Further weight control are attributed to a fiberglass lift off hood, a modestly stripped out interior, aluminum wheels and the aluminum heads and intake manifold. Slowing this hot rod down is done with ease with four wheel disc brakes. For more information on this radical call or stop by our st. Louis showroom. To view hd photos and video, visit |
